Sorry I was MIA for too long

Kathie sent me a private message asking me if I was OK, and I'm glad she did because I think I've been absent here for over two months...? 

I will update you all later but I should really read the psotings of my fellow caregivers who are still fighting the beast; because my Mother passed on March 15th...lasted under 8 months from her diagnosis  She's been gone for five months and now I should really be reaching out (like I promised) to everyone else.

On a final note, I believe she starved to death before the cancer got a chance to finish her off.

Please hang in there and just love them as much as you can every moment you have with them in this world!  Rub their feet, spunge bathe...would give anything just to touch her one more time!!!

It is so good to see your post.  I hope you are doing ok.  I cannot believe 5 months has gone by... scary.  My dad is still fighting, but he is getting tired of the chemo drill.  But, like you, I just want him to stay with us as long as possible.  I totally believe in your "final note."  My dad has always warned us of this... his father died of stomach cancer and weighed about 60 pounds when he died.  My dad gets weighed every week, and that is always the first question I ask him... how much did you weigh?

April, I hope it gets easier for you in time... I know that sounds like a stupid thing to say, but I am just praying it does, because I will be going through it as well at some point, and I just don't want to.
