Rash

My 45 yr old husband was diagnosised with colon cancer stage 3 in February.  He has been through a round of chemo and a round of radiation.  During the radiation he took 5-FU.  He has been off the meds for 2 weeks and has developed a terrible rash of sores all over his calves and ankles.  These sores are starting to appear all over his body.  Does anyone know if this is a side effect from the meds?
