My wife has been receiving Gemcidibine, Oxaliplatin and Avastin. She has been informed that as a result of an MRI she may not be eligible for Avastin anymore. Is anyone using the GEm. Oxal. along with Terceva and if so what is the results. Terveca is approved by FDA for pancreatic cancer and Avasitn is not. I am curious as to what other combinations are being used successfully.

We have seen 2 Dr.'s for advice on treatment for my dad who has pancreatic cancer (had whipple 2 years ago) They both say that Gemzar is your best hope right now. The other drugs you mentioned are out there but according to them, they might add days to your life, not years. They say that the side effects are often worse than the benefits they are suppose to produce. I don't know.
We just started the Gemzar a month ago and are hoping and praying for miracles.
The 2 Dr.'s (from 2 different institutions) we saw said that if Gemzar fails, our next option should be the experimental drugs in the trial phase.
I plan to pray for devine intervention and not hold my breath for the drugs to work.
