What Can I Expect And Do For My Mother?

My mother was just diagnosed with small cell cancer, which has already spread to the liver, spine and ribs. The doctors have told us she is in stage 4. She is scheduled to start chemo on Tues. of next week. What can we expect? What is the ballpark figure of how long she may survive? What can I do to help her and my father thru this? Please help we are all clueless, and scared.

I have had cancer twice now. The most any one can do is be there. Give emotional support and make sure they know you love them. I am going trough radiation now not much any one can do but make sure I have rides and have help with house work. Make sure my children have emotional support. I had chemo three years ago. You do get sick and exhausted with all this your body does not cooperate all the time.It is a tiredness that is all comsuming. I have worked 60 hours a week this is different.
