I have stage 4 D2 Prostate CA. Four years ago the urologist did a negative biopsy and told the primary doctor i should have PSA test every year and if it rose I should have another biopsy. This was not done---nor was i told it should be done. When I changed Doctors 2 weeks ago the new PSA led to diagnosis.
I believe the doctor has an ethical obligation to acknowledge that he made a mistake. If he refuses to I will sue him.
My problem is this---I don't want to distract myself from getting well----the prognosis is grim---but I believe I can try to boost my immune system to maybe survive or at least have a good life.
I would appreciate any advice. I hope that someone may be familiar with a collaborative---mediated legal way of holding doctors accountable for medical mistakes.
Thanks, Charlie
