Prostate cancer and alternative treatments?

My dad has stage 4 cancer that has spread to his bones and his lymph nodes.  He failed hormone therapy and 2 rounds of chemo, the last one almost killed while the cancer spread wildly through it all.  I read a story on here of someone who came through a similair situation with alternative treatments.  Can that be for real?  We felt very discouraged when the doctor said he was too weak to try anything right now.  He has to try to get his strength back up, but he wasn't going to recommend any more chemo.  But two days later, he decided he still wants to fight.  Does anyone have any ideas where to go from here?

Sept 2009, I was diagnosed with intermediate grade, Gleason 6, with <5% tissue cancerous.  Chose active surveillance.

Sept 2010, no cancer was found.....although I'm sure it's still there.

I take PectaSol-C, DIM, BroccoMax, genistein, LEF Ultra Natural Prostate, Astaxanthin, 7-HMRlignans, Apigenin, Ibuprofen, D-3, OptiZinc, metformin, finasteride, reishi mushrooms, and a host of other vitamins and nutrients.

PSA scores:
09/13/2010.....2.82 (2nd biopsy)
06/04/2010.....2.96
02/12/2009.....3.07
09/15/2009.....5.06 (1st biopsy)
08/06/2009.....4.95 (primary doc ordered 1st biopsy)
02/12/2009.....3.51
01/09/2009.....2.99
07/21/2008.....3.36
10/22/2007.....2.81
05/08/2007.....2.69
07/18/2006.....3.00
01/06/2006.....3.90

Millie, Of course your dad can beat his cancer the natural way but he must stay positive overall because it is own mental attitude that will greatly help determine favourable outcomes. He must also actively bolster his general health in order to optimise his immune system initially so that it can help him fight this scourge. Then research the nett for alternative therapies aimed at forcing the cancer cell into remission or apoptosis (cell death). There are many out there and one worth looking at is "Graviola".

I have battled cancer on several fronts over the years; kidney cancer, 2 skin melanomas and three skin carcinomas, and now, I coming into my sixth year with Gleason grade 9 (5+4) prostate cancer. A recent biopsy during TURP surgery found no cancer cells!! No sure what that means but it is more positive than negative, isn't it?

I blog about my experiences and natural cancer treatment regimen, at: http://www.prostateruminate.com/   I do hope you find it both interestring and helpful. Good luck to you and your dad.
