Hello All,
My mom was dx in July of 2005 and had surgury Aug. 1,2005. She was given 6-8 months to live. She is still alive with zero re-growth only taking Temador one week out fo every month. She had one seizure early on and spiked a fever of 105 or so but was soon out of trouble. She went to Duke a few months ago to learn about a trial and declined based on the side effects. She was so scared she made the wrong decision. Anyway, she went back to Duke today after three clear MRI's and has been told she is doing great. They had since uped her life expectency to 16 months but today thet told her they felt she had a great chance of being a long term surviver of 10 YEARS OR MORE!! There are people her age (61) who are 10 + years into this horrible cancer and they are doing great.
Don't ever give up no matter what you are told. If I listened to the doctors my mom should have died two months ago. Instead, she's been told maybe a decade or more of life. What a sweet thing to hear.
Keep the faith and keep strong,
Dana

Dana....thats great and i am so glad for you guys. I've tried to get in touch with you via phone but we seem to still play tag.

That sure gives me something to hope for. I've been 14 months now when i was given 3-6 months so maybe this Temodar is gonna keep me straight.

I've prayed for your mom everyday, tell her i said Hi. Is she still exercising a bunch? i'm not gonna take her off my list just yet. I need to give a lot of thanks.

Dear Dana, I am so happy for you. you know we have always cheered each other on. My husband Russ has been a real success story too as you know. We are now almost 18 months out from diagnosis with no regrowth. I remember what the drs. originally told us, to go home, get our lives in order and Russ would probably live six months, if we were lucky. Pooie to that!! I think everyone who battles these brain tumors and the people who care for them are so brave and courageous. And to Garland and everyone else here, battle on and hang in there!!!

Fondly,
Patty
