My father in law was told he has pancreas cancer, they have done 2 biopsy and nothing, on the last one they did they got 10 samples and still nothing. So would this mean there is no cancer there?
Also now it could be just chronic pancreasitis?
Can he still get jaundice?

It is unusual for Physicians to determine cancer when none of their biopsies have been positive....Where is the Tumor or cyst? and how large...This diagnosis needs more facts before it can actually be a cancer diagnosis. Did they get the biopsies by EUC? Have they done an MRI and catscan w/contrast? I am currently living with a cyst that they believe is an IPMN but not positive...it is currently benign per the biopsies and needle fluid extractions. Has he had chronic pancreatitis and diagnosed with it? Yes, he could get jaundace...Are any bile ducts involved? I would recommend a very strict diet similar to Macrobiotics as this seems to be very healing...at least that is what I am finding since starting it 3 weeks ago. Lillian

Hi...  I understand your frustration at this dilemma...  I had an IPMN in the head of my pancreas...  according to the biopsy done at Walter Reed, it was in a "pre-cancerous" stage...  according to the biopsy done following my whipple procedure, it's non-cancerous...  it is possible that the doctors your Dad is seeing might be giving the "worst case" scenario, and basing their original diagnosis on experience with PC, when no conclusive results were in...  In either case, I truly hope that everything works out for the best...
