typical melanoma?

so i had my wide exsission surgery yeasterday and a sentinal lynode byopsy ......except for a lot of pain all went very well....however the doctor said that my lyphnods showed "atypical"? does anyone know what that means or what will be done from here? do i have to wait for the pathology results? should i be worried?? please let me know if you have any advise?

That's usually a good sign that it hasn't spread to lymph nodes however for sure wait to celebrate until you get pathology report. I had the excision done years ago abd was upset when they told me they had to do another surgery to go deeper as the margins of the first excision showed melanoma cells still. With that said until now (after 3 surgeries) I was cancer free!! So from what you said hopefully that will be the case for you just make sure you keep those dermatology apts going after :) hope that helps a little?
