Roselvr Sun, 16 Jan 2011 00:00:00 GMT Larry   I feel terrible they never told you.   All they ever told me was "I have to have it"  It wasnt the same drug as your wife got.  It was a mixutre of 3 different ones,  and a strong dose as I had stage 3b breast cancer .  Double mastectomy then chemo & radiation.  I have heard that the chemo does kill the good cells as well as the bad, but I would of wanted to know that the drug effects could be fatal.  Thanks for the update and do the best you can. We were told that her cancer was "curable", however, no one told us that the chemo drug 5-fluorouacil would literally kill someone with DPD deficiency. That's dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase deficiency.
