I have recently been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer. Luckily, I volunteered for a Cancer Study at UCLA in 2003 and they found a lesion <1cm in my lower right lung at that time. In the past 6 months, it has grown to 2cm. & my Internist sent me for a PET scan which indicated cancer & a needle biopsy verified the nodule is non-small cell. Since I suffer from COPD, the surgeon I saw does not recommend invasive surgery, but feels RFA will be effective. I see a radiologist next week for a consultation. I feel really optimistic about this because the lesion is still so small & everything I read indicates good results. Does anyone else have experience with RFA for a small lesion? Any help will be appreciated.
