Does anyone have any information on testing postive BRAC II? I had surgury back in October for Pancreatic Surgery. My oncologist thought that I was awful young at the age of 47 to develop PC. The surgery was successful praise the Lord. So in December they wanted to do the Genetic Testing on me since I had a mother that had inflammatory breast cancer. I was some what shocked to hear that I did indeed test positive. So they were almost relieved just for the fact that now I will be able to get better testing. MRI's to go with routein breast exams.
So my question is since I am at a high risk for getting breast and or overian cancer they recommend that I take Tamoxifin 20 MG daily. This is to lesses my chances of getting breast cancer. What does anyone know about this medication? What were some of your most common side effects? Is this something that I should do? Any information that you can provide would be greatly helpful.
