I too suffered with severe pain from my bone cancer that is in my lumbar, sacrum and other areas of spine..... I was sent to a Pain Mangement doctor after I completed my radiation.. (because I still had so much pain afterwards).  After the evaluation, I had a an intrathecal cathader with pain pump put into my back..... I have been pretty much pain free since then. Pump gets refilled about every 3 months and stays in body for up to 8 years.

hope this helps,

Yancy
