Successful HIFU Experience

Hi,

I had HIFU in Cancun on Sat, Jan 15, 2011 performed by Dr. George Suarez and Dr. Frank Tortora. Dr. Surarez has performed over 2000 HIFU procedures and is based in Miami. Dr. Tortora is a urologist in Cary N.C.

My PSA was 6.4 and my gleason was 6.0 with two positive cores.

I arrived in Cancun on Friday night. Arrived at hospital at 8:00 AM was released at 12 noon. Was walking on the beach at 5:00 PM on Saturday.

Returned to Raleigh NC on Monday night, returned to work on Tuesday morning.

Wore the cathter for 21 days with no problems. Have had no incontinence issues.  Experienced erections within 7 days of the procedure and had sex 30 days after the procedure.  My PSA was tested on the 40th day and was 0.01 or undetectable. 

I could not be more pleased with HIFU, the treatment by the HIFU team and Drs Suarez and Tortora.

I will gladly speak with anyone considering HIFU.

great news and very nice of you to tell people, it's the only way the news of HIFU can get out, I hope you post on other forums.

My husband also had HIFU over two years ago and he is cancer free and happy as can be he didn't get swayed by not only doctors, but men on forums would try to scare him away.  He also has no incontinence or sex problems, no pain, nothing.

Thank goodness for the internet!!!

This HIFU also kills other cancers, and I hope that the misery from radiation and surgery end soon....not soon enough for me, but soon.  One can only try to help get the word out!
