Subject: Essiac Question(s)?
Date: 06/18/2006
Hello, this is my first post here.

My mom was recently diagonosed with what I believe (not 100%
sure, but pretty sure) is adenocarcinoma originating in the
cervix with a malignant tumor and metastases (dunno where)

The doctor said they could not operate and that with chemo,
she has a year to a year and a half. She turned 58 today.

She is tough and wants to fight it obviously. She is supposed to
call tomorrow to set up her first chemo.

She is getting fluid in her lungs and swelling in her ankle ala
congestive heart failure (which is what she initially thought she
had)

Obviously being new to all of this, I have done all kinds of
research on alternative methods and found out good things
about Essiac tea.

Has anyone here used this tea for treatment of something
similar to this? Or used it in general? I hear it is safe and good
to help counter the side effects of chemo too. Should she NOT
take it right before, during and after chemo?

I'd really like my mom to be around a long time, so I am willing
to try anything and so is she.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Dave

My husband is the same age as your mother. He has had prostate cancer for the last four years. He has had all the standard treatments and is now on chemo. Of course when the cancer started advancing I looked for whatever I could on cancer. Every thing I looked at the essiac was the most promising. It is not expensive and doesn't seem to have any side effects with standard treatment. My husband started essiac two weeks before his first chemo treatment. He has been on it now for six weeks. First of all, his doctor is amazed that he has very little side effects from the chemo. His hair started to fall out but started right back growing again. He is a little upset to his stomach the first week of chemo, but doesn't seem to lose his strenght. He had other health issues that seem to be going away. The bad news, the tea tastes terrible, but that is a small price to pay. He chases it down with V-8. He takes pain pills because the cancer has spread to his bones, but the tea keeps him regular which is also a blessing with pain pills.
I just want to close with, I think essiac's is the way to go. This site will clear the website so I won't start with the dot com's. Bulk-essiac-tea is where we buy ours. It is the eight herb formula.
Good luck to your mother. Michelle

Take a look at your mothers blood report. In my opinion her total protein may be off. Her Albumin level is low and the globulin level is too high. Her Albumin should be higher than globulin if I remember right. Often times when fluid starts building up like in the belly (ascites) it is due to a low albumin level. And a possible cause of that is the liver is overloaded and needs to be detoxified. The liver is way to overburdened.
