My mum had colorectal cancer just over a year ago. She had half her bowel removed but no chemo etc. Ever since then she has had problems with what we thought was a hiatus hernia. We have now been told it is oesophageal cancer and they cant operate as she is too frail. She is 68 years old and only weighs 7 stone. They are going to refer her to someone else for chemo and radiotherapy but what are her chances of survival after this? The cancer is not related to her bowel cancer, it is totally separate. How unlucky is that? She has been through too much already!
