Thank you all for your responses.  My husband had the ct/scan last Tuesday and Thursday we received the results - nothing seen so no treatment.  I asked the onco if they would consider chemo even though nothing was noted on the ct/scan -= he said "No" - no tumor no chemo.. From what I have read, the CA19-9 is a precurser to a tumor showing up while oncologist says that he believes the rise is due to aggravation of the bowels.  Oncologist will not request a PET scan at this point.  We go back in June.  My husband is totally relieved (he doesn't read anything about this progression).  I, on the other hand, continue to wait for the other shoe to drop.

Thanks again,

Pam

Enjoy the good news, take a vacation from the cancer war.  My mother used to tell me not to "borrow trouble" it will probably find you soon enough.  I stopped reading and just enjoy the good days when they come.

I know it is hard not to worry, believe me, but we have to take each good day we are given and make the most of it.  This is good news for your husband.  Ron has a scan in May, hoping for the same results.

God Bless

Hi Pam,my mom had a scan done and they could not see the tumor, yet the Dr knew it was there.  He told it to me like this.

You know you droped a pin on the floor but you can't see it,well it is just the same way with the tumor.  You know its there but you can't see it.  They did surgery on my mom and she had the Whipple done on the 30th of Mar.

I had read somewhere about some teas in large quantities, but not sure I believe it.  I would worry first and prove no issues, but for the heck of it search if somethings affect it that can be stopped before test.  Good luck!

Since posting in April - my husbands CA19 has risen to 146!  At last visit the onc said "we've been chasing this thing for months, I'm not ordering a scan for another 2 months".  I was quite suprised but my husband was grateful for the break in scans so here we sit!  I'm anxious for October visit to see where CA19 is at that point and if the onc will order PET scan instead of CT.

Still waiting in Texas, Pam
