What are the odds of getting a matched unrelated donor for BMT?
by yashsyo on Fri Aug 03, 2012 12:45 PM
I wondered the same a month ago , but turns out they found me a match . A 'potential' donor they said , 9/10 match right here in my country (INDIA) and they checked Germany first , through registries. So i guess the odds they find a donor through a registry is not so low. But then again , my Potential MUD , has not yet responded to the mail from the registry yet.

It just depends on your ethnicity and marker make up. Being white, European and all is best, after that- it gets tough. I had a 10/10 match myself.
