Typical Carcinoid Tumor Recurrence

Subject: Typical Carcinoid Tumor Recurrence
Date: 07/11/2006
I had a bilobectomy on my right lung in October of '04 to remove a typical carcinoid tumor.

I have recently been diagnosed with pneumonia, and I'm scheduled to go in for a CT scan in one week to determine if the "spot" on my chest x-ray taken last week, is a tumor....

Have any of you had recurrences of typical carcinoid tumors? Doctors told me during my surgery that it was "extremely unlikely" to get another one....So, I'm confused. Also, I'm worried about losing the last section of my right lung during another surgery.
