Date: 07/12/2006
Anybody want to talk about glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) IV? I've got it, but with God's help, I'm going to kick it!!! Let's talk positive here, because we can still enjoy life while living with cancer. Looking foward to talking to you! Discussion of other types of cancer welcome, too, of course! Blessings, Susie K

Hi Susie, I have a type of cancer that is called Waldenstroms macroglobulinemia, they say there is no cure for this. I really needed spirtual support, as a christian, I wanted to be with other christians so we have a prayer board, www.allin1accord.com, we have some really great prayer warriors there, and the support is awesome! We have quite a few survivors on there and some still with cancer, also a couple of nurses, one who was a hospice nurse, not everyone there has had cancer, but different types of illnesses, we pray together and cry together and laugh! Merriment is good for the soul! In fact the first thing my Onc. told me was.......keep a smile on your face, have a postive attitude and keep you faith in God! I have done all 3! PTL! If you feel led to come visit us, we would love to have you, you will need the user name and PW user name is praise and the PW is love, it is non denominational, but all born again christians, God bless you sis,I will be praying for you, Pat

Hi, Pat! I appreciated your posting so much! After spending months on various cancer boards, I noticed that the great majority of them are people who concentrate on the negatives of their lives, not the positives. I can certainly understand and sympathize, but it's so wonderful to hear someone else say they're determined to keep a smile on their face and maintain a good attitude. That's exactly what I've been doing. I know it's not easy, but that's what we've got to do, right?? I also really appreciate you telling me about the Christian website. I will most definitely check it out today, and bless you for inviting me! I've been looking for somewhere I can share with believers, but hadn't found anything yet, so THANK YOU!! You're in my prayers, keep the faith and I hope to talk to you soon! Also, tell me more about your cancer, if you don't mind; I'm not familiar with it! Blessings, Susie

Hi Susie and Pat: You both are an inspiration to me. I have Stage 4 lung cancer in both lungs and in the lymph nodes in my neck. I have had 2 chemo treatments and they don't know if they are working yet. I have been looking for other people who choose to stand and believe God is a God of healing and will be in charge of my destiny either here or in heaven. I would like to go to the christian web site also, if that is ok. How are both of you doing? I will pray for you both and God Bless you in everyway! Sherrie

Hi Sherrie, it's really good to hear from you. I'm sorry about your lung cancer, but you're right -- we do have a God who heals,so there's always hope!! He has kept me healthy now for a little over a year (I have brain cancer), and I'm enjoying and appreciating every single moment of every single day (or at least, that's my goal!). That's the blessing behind the "curse" of cancer, for me...if I hadn't had this illness, I never would have realized how precious life really is, nor would I have met some of the great people I've come to know. There's always good in every situation if you look for it! I'm 50 years old, with 4 kids ages 14-24. None of them are married yet, so I have to stay around to dance at their weddings and bounce my grandchildren on my knee! So I have a powerful motivation for putting off my trip to heaven for a while, good Lord willing! My MRI last week was clear (i.e. no tumor recurrence or regrowth), so that's really exciting. I take chemo for 5 days every month, and then I'll have another MRI in 3 months, and so on, and so on! TThat's pretty much how my life goes these days. Piece of cake, right? But I'm actually feeling really well, so I certainly can't complain! I hope you're feeling well and happy today and all though the weekend. I appreciate your posting, and I thank you for calling Pat and me an "inspiration." That is very sweet of you! Pat is definitely an inspiration ... she's the one who invited me to the Christian website. I really think you'll like it, so I hope you visit it soon. You'll need a User ID and Password to log in, so here they are: User ID is "praise" and the password is "love" You can get to the website at www.allin1accord.com. Please do join us -- it's an awesome group of prayer warriors and friends. You'll be a wonderful addition! If you have any trouble finding the site, or getting in, let me know! I'll be praying for you, and I appreciate your prayers for me. Hope to talk to you again soon! Blessings, Susie

HI Sherrie, thank you for the nice words, I will be praying for you and your cancer, I can say that when they mention this word to you, your whole life changes, but praising God for His goodness and mercy! I am still praising God for Susies good report! She is an inspiration to me! Like I said before, the whole thing with this, is a good attitude, a smile on your face and your faith in God, they tell me there is no cure for my cancer, but I am trusting God, I have 4 grown children and just had my 7th grandchild the 27th of July, and Like Susie I plan to be around and see them grow! We have a gal on our board, named Betty that is a lung cancer survivor and she is really helping another gal that has it now, thats the whole purpose of our prayer board is to help each other and give support! Hehe, we even get goofy every now and then, but merriment is good for the soul! It helps to laugh, and sure is better then crying! I would love to have you come visit us, I think you would really enjoy the fellowship and the support, I pray that God gives you a very special touch! God bless you sister! Pat
