Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma

Subject: Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma

My father was diagnosed late last year with MFH. He had a huge mass in his upper left thigh that measured over 25 cm. He is 69 years old, amputation was out of the question for him (they wouldn't have got it all even if they amp'td). Through surgery they got 70-80% of the mass and radiated 1x/wk for 13 wks. The leg is better(still some mass but considerably smaller). However it has metastasized to the lungs. His doctor says this is common with this cancer. They don't know why. Also, we are told this cancer doesn't respond well to chemo, and they seem "uneager" to radiate the lungs. Anyone experience this? Any suggestions? We would appreciate any advice. My father is a fighter, and he is willing to try anthing. Please respond.
