Subject: no Answer For Low Hemoglobin?
Date: 07/19/2006
My mom has been dealing with low hemoglobin for the last 4 years. She has been getting 2 unit transfusions every month or two, but more frequently in the past 6 months. She has been tested for everything including upper and lower scopes for cancer, but no reason can be given for the depletion of good red blood cells.
She is going to the hospital friday to have renal arteries cleaned and a stint there re-opened.Mom is 78 years old.Anyone have any ideas on where we should search for answers to the low hemoglobin levels? Thank you for any info.

Hi I have a primary of Breast cancer and metestactic bone disease. My hemoglobin count keeps slowly dropping even though i get shots of aranesp for the anemia. My oncologist is suspecting that the cancer is in my bone marrow and has started me on xeloda a chemo pill.

I go tomorrow for another shot and to have my CBC checked.

I am trusting the Lord through all of this and still have good quality of life and no pain.
