Hair Loss?

I have had 3 treatments of carboplatin/Alimta so far for lung cancer. Has anyone had their hair just come out a few strands at a time? Did it eventually all come out?

Everyone reacts differently to chemo. What chemo does is it attacks fast growing cells and some people lose all their hair and some people can lose partial. I have even known people that haven't lost any.

Or, like my husband with esophageal cancer- grow hair. The guy grew hairs on a head that had been bald 30 years. And it was jet black again. The chest hair was unbelievable! Now that was the first cocktail - second round, one of his three chemo drugs was changed and he lost it all - all at once.

Hi there!  I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer back in May, I started Chemo also Carboplatin/Abraxane and my hair came out exactly 13 days after my first chemo treatment, in hand fulls literally.  I raced to the closest hair salon and had it shaved off.  I just had my 4th chemo treatment and not a single hair on my body.  Most days I am totally fine with it and don't wear a wig...other days when I feel really good, I want to look a little more normal!

I am supposed to start on Hydroxyurea and I noticed one of the side effects is hair loss.  Has anyone on this drug lost their hair when they took it?
