It's such great news to hear you've hit that five year milestone. I add my thanks for sharing that news with us. Hubby Bart will be two years cancer free at the end of the month. I qualify that because he has a node in his neck the docs are watching, though his "Doctor Doom" ENT doesn't think it's cancer and it's had no uptake on the last PET.
God bless you and keep you cancer-free. diane

Great ! It is my first target ... :) , I made it for 3 years in end June '11 .
So, about two years more, I will join the 5 years ... very soon , hahahahaha .
Anyway, I am 3 years living with it in my lung, no free cancer for me yet . But, did have good quality of life withj Lord's blessing and healing.
Just back to Chemo early last month and today have the 2nd cycle , hopefully this time will get the tumor shrink and join the NED soon .
Feel great !

Dang! And here I was thinking how I wanted to get back on a bike again....only been 35 years...
That 5 year window is a big one - and you made it. Good news to hear. I'm about to go through my 4th and looking for that 5th with great anticipation.
You've given me something to look forward to...but not the bike I think... :)

Hello Friends-5 yr check up!!!! ;-)

Hello dear friends, it's been a while I've posted. Well, I made it to my 5 year check up and Cancer Free!!!
Had my PET done in May, which I said was not going to do, but since I had also had a motorcycle accident, that month went to get checked, trying to learn to drive, had hubby on the back (bad mistake) but tried anyway. I gunned it too hard, was turning left and husband was LEANING right, so there I go into the telephone pole and fence out in the country. Thanks to God after all above I ended up showing a shadow on the right lung, turns out to have been a bruse and it healed.
So I am clear on the cancer, broke my wrist, strained my shoulder, elbow, arm.
Still have all the problems as before, mucous, dry mouth, jaw hurting, ears hurting. All in all have gained 5 lbs since diagnosed. Neck disection hurts on occasion, tightness, so still on pain meds, muscle relaxers, still take pink magic, rince in baking soda, but doing much better. I've just accepted this is the new life and very grateful to be here!
Hope all are having a much more peaceful life these days and those who are new....God Bless, Faith, Hope and Love to you! Give the Lord time to work with you after all you have been through, be kind, nice, to yourself!
Thanks to all who have shared so much of their lives with us as well!
God Bless
Patricia
p.s. Dave, Pop-Pop, Steph, etc. thank you for all the information you have given me!!!! Love & Warm Hugz
