Sizes of tumours

Hi Vicki,

Your issue and comments are some what confusing and also concerning.

Allow me...Why won't the tumors grow if they are doing NOTHING for you...this I do not understand. Okay you take an injection of Sandostatin every 28 days...I am assuming you take this to control diarrhia, Etc, etc.

I hope you have a great doctor...

I am interested in where you say people say they are doing nothing. I do not believe you read this type of comment by anyone posting a message regarding Bile Duct Cancer.

Another issue I would like to mention...Your liver...you say you are not sure what they can do for your liver. Well did you ask your doctor that question? And if so, what did he/she say...

You say your liver is scattered with tumors. But yet you and your doctor is doing NOTHING...something is not clicking here. 

If I may ask...what country are you being treated, if you are being treated. Which medical facility are you being treated at...

You say it's a scarey deal...it doesn't appear to be very scarey to any of your medical folks.

Vicki, I do not believe anyone on the Bile Duct Cancer section of this web site is going through what you are experiencing.

Vicki, Your entire issue is very confusing...

Did the doctors say what they intend to do to deal with the liver tumors.

Vicki....have you been diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma). To me it does not appear this is the case.

Vicki....where is your Carcinoid Tumor located

I wish I and other's can help. Maybe someone else out there is more experienced than I with what you have mentioned can help you.

I the meantime do what you are doing or not doing to handle this matter.

I will read more about the Liver Cancer issue you are experiencing and try to help.

My name is millie and a year ago i was dianosed with primary liver cancer. I had the tumer removed 8cm

Then almost a year later it came back with a bunch of multiable tumors which my dr did radio ablasion and they are dead now, but more came back and ir has spread to my spine (which they did radition on) so dont think they cannot do anything. You need to fight and teach yourself what your opions are. Im on nexavar and milk thistle now i only have 2 very very small tumors.

@milliew51 - My father too is taking Nexavar. How have your side effects been taking it and at what dosage? My dad's dosage started off with 4 pills per day, and then lowered to 3 per day.  He is currently off it, because he had surgery as the liver cancer had mets to the lung.  His Oncologist will see him soon, to see if he needs to go back on Nexavar. He is also taking an herbal extract that has allowed him to feel "normal" as he puts it, while taking the chemo. No weight loss, no loss of appetite, and he can actually sleep better as well.

@Vicki - There is always hope. Just make sure that your doctor is on top of things.  When they found the lesions on my father's liver, the doctor was very thorough and got things moving. Your situation is slightly different in the fact that it occurs in multiple locations, but at a bare minimum, there are several treatment options.

Im happy to hear from you. Some of the side affects for me was skin on hands peeling, broke out all over with rash, sores in mouth, all these symtoms I no longer have, However I do have diarrhea but I take ibmotium for and it helps. I am on 4 pills a day.But as a rule I feel pretty good. I tell people I dont feel like I have cancer other then alittle bit tired.Actual ly I am going back to work, I was approved for disability but I want to go back to work, Im not ready to give up yet. I am praying for your fathers health. Oh I do take a vitamin K1 my daughter found on a message board its suppose to help with the side effects, so maybe thats why I dont really have any. Dont know, But I take it.

Just found out my father has 2 tumors in his Liver. He is also battling Stomach Cancer(since 2008). One is 2.9cm and the other is 5cm. They are located in Segment 1 & 7. Unsure which is where at this time. It is inoperable and he isn't strong enough for surgery anyways.

Are they gonna put him back on nexavar? What are they gonna do? Tell him hang in there, I was givin bad news every 4 months when I had a scan until this last one.

What about radio ablation? Is that an opion for him? I had that done and I didnt even know I had anything done other than the sleepy medicine they give you.
