How do lifestyle factors and exposure to environmental substances affect our cancer risk?

My dad just had his six month checkup and all looked good. Unfortunately, he is experiencing front to side pain right now. He went to the doctor who wants him to stop taking aspirin and come back in two weeks. Does anyone have any experience with this?
