How do lifestyle factors and exposure to environmental substances affect our cancer risk?

I just read a great book titled "Nothing to Fear" by Larry Burkett. Very encouraging book from a 10 year survivor of Stage IV RCC, before dieing of a heart attack. In the book he talks about a immune therapy he did many times that he doesn't actually mention. He said it strengthed his immune system and credits it with his long survival. He also tested it's effectiveness with a test he called IL-8. The Internet community seems to believe he recieved something called "AM-2", which lots of people say was a quack-ish therapy. Any in this community have any information on this (good or bad)? Thanks,Jim

Did you or your loved one seek a second opinion before starting cancer treatment?
No, but we got a second opinion after we started treatment
