My mom had the IRE nanoknife procedure at University of Maryland hospital with Dr. Fred Moeslein yesterday. Dr. Moeslein is the BEST OF THE BEST. From his determination to kill the cancer, his great bedside manner and his eagerness to help his patients I STRONGLY recommend him to anyone fighting cancer. I never thought with my mom having stage 3 non operable locally advanced (encasing the artery) pancreatic cancer that when I called Dr. Moeslein a month ago he would be able to help. Now today we came home from a one night stay in the hospital and over 90% of my mom's tumor is gone with NO SURGERY. This procedure is amazing. Whatever part of the tumor is left Dr. Moeslein will go back in next month and zap away. Please do not give up!! My mom had almost given up because she was told that there were no more options for her besides long term chemo. When we told her regular oncologist about the nanoknife he basically said he knew nothing about it so he couldn't recommend it. Thank goodness we looked into it further. I believe that God sent my mom and my family a blessing when we found Dr. Moeslein. If you have ANY questions about anything or want the doctors contact info please contact me. I pray for strength for everyone fighting with this horrible disease. Love, Kelly

The tumor was a 4 cm mass in her pancreas which had major artery involvement. The artery it was encasing was the SMA (Superior mesenteric artery) Dr. Moeslein used 10 needles to kill the tumor with no cutting or surgery at all. She was non operable by every hospital we went to and most of them told us there was nothing left they could do except chemo. If you have non operable pancreatic (or any other soft tissue cancer) you should def contact Dr. Moeslein at University of Maryland right away.
This is great news :) Thank you!! :)

Here is a update on this post. We do not know if my mom's tumor is all dead or what is going on with the tumor at this point. We initially thought it was all dead but after a very long few months we now are not sure. She has had many complications that have kept us from addressing the status of the tumor. She will get re-staged at the end of this month and we should know more about what the nanoknife did or didn't do and i will update then. This is a learning experience for the doctors and the patients I guess. I hope everyone else is having good experiences with the nanoknife. Dr. Moeslein has been wonderful through all of this and I recommend him to anyone wanting the nanoknife.
