Hello,
I hope that eveyone faced with cancer is fortunate enough to go beyond what their Doctors are telling them and do some research. There is a lot out there. Some good. Some not so good. There are plenty of folks out there who don't have any problem taking advantage of the most desperate. It's hard enough making difficult decisions based on good information. Disinformation only makes it harder. I am glad that people feel compelled to post their experiences and opinions here. It's dissappointing when people feel compelled to disrupt the harmony of this place with fanatic, angry, conspiracy oriented trash. Thanks for the information, but don't interject it every chance you get. Stop suggesting that people should not have radiation or chemotherapy. It's annoying and not productive.
Radiation, like most of the drugs we take, is bad for you if used improperly. To ask why anyone would put something bad in their body you have to ask why we take any drug. Did you know that Cumadin, a commonly used blood thinner is what is in rat poison.
Most people can tell you that there is something wrong with this whole cancer business. We don't need to constantly be reminded. If you have some viable, constructive suggestions, lets hear them. Otherwise, find some other way to vent your anger and grief.
There may be more money in treating cancer than curing it. History has shown us how evil man-kind can be. There are plenty of good, caring and god fearing people, involved in this struggle, that I find it hard to believe that a conspiracy is afoot.
The research, approval, and priceing of cancer drugs is extremely frustrating for all of us. When we are desperate it becomes even more frustrating. However, a Doctor with good intentions and a good idea must have some idea about how the system works and why. Burzynski must have some idea what he is up against. He can offer his treatment while putting it through the wickets of FDA approval. Anacdotal evidence has never been proof of anything.
I think the good Doctor may have a good idea but he has either not followed the rules or there are a lot of rumors propegated by angry conspiracy theorists. Either he will be successful in bringing his treatment to fruition or he will not. In the mean time he can continue to charge exorbitant prices to wealthy and desperate people. How altruistic is that? Perhaps FDA approval would mean having to accept what the insurance companies are willing to pay. Who knows. If he really did say that radiation causes cancer to grow, then I don't think he is someone I would talk to.
I am not trying to start an argument here. Just give it a rest and get some perspective.
