My husband has been on this trial since Tuesday. He was randomized to receive GDC-0980. So far he has no side effects. We won't know if it working until the scan in 8 weeks. It is the only trial that he was eligible for. It is better than the alternative.

My husband has been on this trial for 11 days now.  A few days ago I could sense that something was not right with him and I tested his blood sugar.  It was 400.  After seeing an endocrinologist, he is now on 2 oral meds for diabetes.  He will continue to test blood sugar 3x a day and adjust meds as needed.  He is continuing on the trial.  High blood sugar is a side effect of M-tor drugs.  His blood sugar was normal before he started the GDC.

My husband is now 2 weeks into the trial of GDC-0980 and now has to take 2000mg a day of Metformin, 8mg a day of Glimeperide and now starting today injecting himself with insulin just to control his blood sugar which is raised as a side effect of the drug.  6 weeks to go for the CT scan and the tumors that we can feel under his skin are not any smaller.

Has anyone tried this drug yet or has anyone gotten diabetes from Affinitor?
