Hello, I am a new contributor to this site. I have stage four choriodal melanoma with tumors in my lungs, ribs, spine, leg, liver and eye. All of them except the liver ones are pretty small and inert. My wife and I were researching SIRT spheres and wanted to have that treatment done to my liver. However, Kaiser refused to approve the treatment and we are feeling dejected. They would not even approve a clinical trial with SIRT spheres. We do not know what to do. Our oncologist will only recommend that I either take Yervoy or go to the Angeles Cancer Clinic and do their clinical trial. We went to the ACC and were treated so shabbily that I refuse to return. I can give the sordid details later if anyone really wants to know. Can anyone offer advise on how we can get into a clinical trial without our oncologist's approval? We were thinking of changing our health care provider but are uncertain if the other doctors would just do the same thing. Thanks for any help you can offer.
