My 17 yr old has AML

Hello everyone, Happy Sunday :) Im new here so plz bare with me. My Son Has AML, was diagnosed in Nov of 2011. Has gone threw induction and is in CR. we r curently doing Maintnence Kemo every month, tomorrow will be 2nd time and 3 more after that. Im so afraid for him, so terified it will come back~ I guess what I need is to chatt with PPL who have this cancer so I can better understand what it is and what my son is going threw. oh thats my Boy in my profile pic...Luv him S0 Much!

They know a lot more now about AML then 7 years ago when my dad was diagnosed. So many things come into play now with various markers. Best suggestion I have is to read posts here; also check out cancer survivors network & look at facebook to see what pages they have. Good luck.

hello,  I,m jim,  caregiver for cheryl, she is now coming up on 5 yrs of defeating the beast, and would love to talk/listen be a friend and sounding bourd in your time of struggle. our  prayers are with you.

I would like to give you some news about a dear friend of mine who was diagnosed at age 19 with AML. She had a BMT at CITY OF HOPE and is now 5 years without relapse. She ran her first Marathon and I was with her. Youth plays a big part of surviving this illnes. Of course many factors play a part, but keep up the good thoughts and I sure hope he feels better soon.
