Hello, sorry to hear about your mother. I had a whipple two months ago and spent twenty days recovering in the hospital. They actually had to reinsert my nasal drain tube because of the same issue. Not a fun procedure but it did the job. They left it in for another week. Everyone responds differently. Is her tube out of her nose? Is she taking pepcid for stomache acids?
5-6 weeks post surgery everything starting working almost normally again. 10 weeks out it is working good. Tight and eratic but good.
