Brother Has Been Diagnosed With Lung, Metastisized To The Spine

Hi, I know that no one out there knows me, but maybe I can find someone to talk to. My brother was diagnosed with lung cancer that has metasized to his spine about 3 weeks ago. He is having radiation 5 days a week, and then will start chemo after 39 treatments. He is only 42 years old. It started with leg pain about 2 years ago, and they just found out what it was. Please, if anyone out there has any information out there for me, please respond and keep him in your prayers.

Sorry to hear about your brother. My auntie was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma in January this year. After the chemo finished we were told the blood was clear... A follow up scan to check the tumour on her lung had shrunk showed that she had secondary cancer of the spine and other areas. we were only told this week... They cannot start radio therapy because her spine is cracked and they need to operate on this first and build her up again, but she is too weak for the operation. They have said they don't know what else they can do for her.We will find out more tomorrow when she sees the consultant. She is 63 years old. Your brother is young and should keep fighting. I just wanted to share my story with you because its sounds very similar to yours. My brother was just diagnosed with.. Well I dont really know? He wont share much but this is all I know. He said its cancer in his spine. So I have done some research and I know it is bone cancer and it is malignant? Other than that I dont know much? He was diagnosed in the second week of August and started chemo the very next day! I know it cant be good if he doesnt want to share any information with us, I would just like to know more about it. My other brother told me he has had it for 3 years now! He had been feeling really weak and one day he couldnt feel his face..Then he went in to the hospital and found out! My brother is 41 I think? I am the youngest of 9 soo its hard to keep track.. Well if you have any info please dont hesitate to write..

I just received a call from my best friend who about 7-10 years ago had breast cancer. Well her back has been bothering her and she thought it was just arthitis. Her oncology doctor did an MRI on her this morning and just called to say it appears she may have some cancer in her bone or spine. I don't know much something about doing a pet test or something like that on friday of this week.

I'm afraid but must be strong. We have been the best of friends for over 20 years.

Hi, I feel like I know you already even though we've never met due to the same sort of circumstances. I wish you and your friend all of the Lord's blessings and hope that everything works out for his glory. My prayers will be with you. My brother is supposed to start chemotherapy tomorrow, but he has a skin infection that has caused him to have to wait. Be thinking about us.

I just want to share a few things with you, As september 2005 M y brother was diagnosed with lung cancer that metastisized to his spine. He has now be given a few days to live as of yesterday. We fill he was missed diagnosed. We look back now and can see where he had bone cancer that went to his lung. Just because he was older they thought it was lung cancer. My brother is 56 yrs. Your brother is soooooooooooo much younger. See if he consider going to an pathologist.Wish you and your brother the best and will keep you in my prayers. sis1018

Hi, and thanks for responding. My brother hasn't started chemo as of yet, because he keeps getting infections, and they won't start it until the infection is completely gone. What is a pathologist exactly and what is the difference between an oncologist and a pathologist?

Pathologist deals with all diseases , I just wish My brother would have checked this out. Now that we look back on the year. We feel he had bone cancer. instead of lung. Because He had it in his bones and not his lungs at first. How they figured it was lung cancer. Is because he smoked.And was over forty.They really have never fully found his Primary. They say Lung cancer. But The hospice nurse said theres no pain with lung cancer. But bone cancer is very painful. And pain is what drove him to the doctor.

my brother was diagnosed with lung cancer that metastisized to his ribs shoulders, under right arm lymph system and brain , he gets radiation 5 days a week on his head and lymph node in the chest for ten days and then will start chemo,,... he is a non smoker (Police) good health good weight lifted weights the whole nine.. they thought it was bronchitis he was down in three months ... unbelievable...
