Fever during 50 mg sutent second cycle

Please suggest 

My father's left kidney was removed due to cancer in year sep 2010 after that he was on regular check up for the functioning of  right kidney ,in the month of Dec 2011 he got some pain in their shoulder & right side of stomach ,on going checkup & tests it was confirmed that he is renal cancer spread in liver 5 th & 8 lobe  ,right lung lower part ,slightly in right shoulders .Now he has completed I cycle of sutent 50 mg with BP 145/90 ( approx ) ,little scar in mouth on 22.03.2012 ,since 29 of march he suffering with fever vering  up to 100  farenheight ( maximum) with coughig & mild pain in chest. he is taking cephalosporin antibiotic 500 mg but pain becomes less & coughing is going on with fever.( this situation was also during first cycle but on going with cephalo 500 mg problem was resolved )

please suggest how can overcome this if any one have any exp.with this type of situation please share.

I thought I would toss in my two cents on the situation. I was diagnosed with Stage IV RCC in June 11, also had my left kidney removed. I was put on 50mg sutent almost right away, the standard four weeks on, two weeks off. At first, it was borderline unbearable, I couldn't eat ANYthing, barely slept yet was so tired and constantly queezy with sporadic diarreha, thankfully never experienced the fevers...

The point is, that was almost a year ago and I'm still on sutent, in fact now on a more constant basis (37.5 for 6 weeks continuous) and I truly feel the only way I was able to do that was through the vaporization of marijuana, 3-4 times daily, with it I am able to eat, sleep and don't get nearly as sick as I used to, it completely changed everything..

Can't do anything about the mouth sores though :(
