XELODA

My boyfriend will be starting Xeloda next week, along with radiation therapy.   He has Stage 3 pancreatic cancer.   Does anyone else have any experience with this drug?  It is taken in pill form while taking radiation.    I haven't seen very many posts on here that mention it, so I just wondered.

I took Xeloda during my radiation therapy for 28 days.  My biggest issues during my treatments were thinning of my hair and loss of appetitle.  My medical oncologist prescribed megace for appetite and it helped me alot.  My treatment was very successful, my cancer was stage II-B.  Goodluck and God Bless.

My Dad just completed 6 weeks of Chemo(Xeloda) and radiation for esophageal cancer Stage 3.  He did very well on the Xeloda.  Had few side effects.  The biggest issue was near the end of his treatment he had to crush the pills because he had trouble swollowing them due to the radiation.  We are waiting for the PET scan which is scheduled and hoping and praying for great results

Hope your boyfriend has finished with his Xeloda by this time. Just to share that my husband also on Xeloda for 5 weeks together with radiotheraphy for rectal cancer stage 3.

He has less side effects, no hand & foot syndrome. only the 4th week, his radiation has taken effect. the skin at his bottom already burnt and scaling. so, he has trouble to walk around. he also being priscribe for Clarinese because of the inchiness but truly..it doesnt really help... :(

he has trouble sleeping up till now and taking liquid morphine & Stilnox. the sleeping patterns still not doing better even he has finished with the radiation & chemo.
