another update, its been 10 months since the transplant and all is well, my sister has no signs of cancer in any followup mri scans or tumor markers, etc, the liver is functioning well with some chronic rejection treated with prednisone and I as the donor have fully recovered, ( I went back to work in 1 month) I am a respiratory therapist and hyperbaric tecnologist in cincinnati. I will continue to post for awhile with updates on her condition, she has been back to work since feb 2007. for questions please reply to this post and I will check back. good luck to all!

P.S. The teams at Northwestern Memorial Hospital are the best and we will forever be in their debt, I have worked in and been a pt in many hospitals and I am yet to see anything that compares. The physicians, nursing and ancillary staff are at the top of their contemporaries.
