Please know that you are not alone. Many who don't even know you are praying for you.

My brother is fighting this horrific disease. Diag. stage IV last fall. Outlook not good.

Maria,

I have been off the board for several weeks and just checked in. I am so sorry to hear about Joe...guess I need to do some catch up reading because I thought things had been going fairly well for him. It can get ugly very fast if it rears it's head again. Pat was doing well and making progress, then it ramped up so fast it was hard to believe. My son and I went to India with Pat's ashes, and offered them to the Ganges in Haridwar, which is considered a very sacred place. I miss him so much, as I know you must be missing Joe. Sending prayers for peace. Please keep in touch if you need anything.

Joe kept everything from me and I really think that once the lung nodules started to appear, about a year after the surgery, that things went downhill.  He didn't want me to go to any of his chemo appointments and drove himself to and from all chemo and Dr. appointments.  I believed what he told me about his scans and didn't want contact his oncologist for fear that the news wouldn't be so good (just my way of coping).  Not knowing allowed me to go to work each day.  It wasn't until the past couple of months that things got ugly fast and Joe spent the past 6 in 3 different hospitals.  He put up such a fight these past 4 years and I am so proud of him.

Maria
