Just an update about my Mom. Since all her radiation in her sinus area, her PET scans have been clear. The scan did show mm on her knee area. They radiated it and it's been clear since. Her PET scan last week showed it had spread to her shoulder, adrenal gland area near liver, right breast, and spine. Because it has now spread to vital organs, she is able to start drug Sutent with Dr. Hodi at Dana Farber (he has been her dr. for last 4 months). I am in shock on how quick this grows; as her scans have been so good. Within 1 month this all spread. Does anyone know the success rate with this drug once it has spread to the bone? The fact the melanoma is in her spine has me thinking there is little hope. This disease is so awful and aggresive :-( God bless all of you going through this,
