ccnu didn't work Radiation next

It's with a heavy heart that I write this. I will start radiation next wk for 2-3 and then have a scan a mth after that. I guess I thought with the missing DNA in my tumor that I'd be more responsive to treatment. Doubting myself about not taking the high dose Temodar only once. Although my Doc did say a few mths later that there's no actual proof that the Temodar actually works beyond the 6 wks radiation and low dose chemo. I'm thinking about all my special friends om cancer compass. My Mom said to me if I could take this from you and give it to myself I would. I cried with my sister late last night. Ellen

Oh, Ellen. I'm so very sorry! I'm crying right along with you and your sister. Don't you dare wonder about Temodar or any other path. Let's get through this radiation and zap the bugger. Vision the laser focus killing those damn cancer cells. We will eradicate this monster! Keep up the faith and best of luck next week. I will be thinking of you. Patti

Hang in there Ellen!

Radiation has been the answer for Tom ALWAYS!  If you are anything like him, then you will want to avoid any red meat during radiation - he can't eat it, it tastes spoiled.  When is your appointment with the Radiation Oncologist?  I know that some people have used celebrex while going through radiation - you might want to search that.

Hi Ellen - Don't doubt yourself, we heard the same thing about that there is no evidence about temodar having any effect after 6 months.

ellen sorry it didnt work for you.  have you looked into gamma knife of stereo radiation treatment?  I know the tumor has to be under 4cm diameter but it is wortj looking at

Never doubt yourself about the Temodar, you know yourself better then any doctor does, you made the best decision for yourself.  You'll do great with the radiation, this is a crazy ride we all are on, but it makes us that much stronger!!!!!!
