How do lifestyle factors and exposure to environmental substances affect our cancer risk?

I had it removed from scalp and lymph nodes taken from neck.Did 7 months of interferon and have made it thru 6 months cancer free from stopping treatments. Does it come back generally the first year from when you stop .
