Hi. I had a colposcopy after a positive PAP showed squamous cell lesions. The colposcopy (in December) came back negative, but then my insurance failed to pay for it, so I haven't been able to go back for another check up. I do have the high-risk HPV virus, though I only ever had one outbreak, many years ago, and that was totaly excised.

My question now is that, even though that colpo in December was clean, ever since my husband and I had sex a few weeks ago, I have had low, diffuse pain in my low pelvic region. Almost like a bladder infection, but not. I had a hysterectomy almost 10 years ago for endometriosis so I have no ovaries or tubes and nothing else in there that could be causing pain. I don't think it is a bladder infection. Could vaginal cancer (it would have to be that, since I don't have a cervix) not have shown up on the colpo and now have advanced to the point of causing this diffuse pain? It is almost all the time. I have had some constipation, but also diahrrea. Even deep inside my vagina hurts. It is like a dull ache that is sometimes worse than others. Now I wish I just would have called my doctor, insurance problem or not, but it is the weekend and I know no other doctor could help me with this. It doesn't burn when I urinate, which makes me think it is not a bladder infection (which I used to get frequently). I have had some bladder leakage, though. Please help if anyone can. I didn't think this would cause symptoms if I did have it, especially so soon (although the HPV was contracted probably 12 years ago at least). Thank you. Sorry for the length. Tracy

Go back to the doctor. Ask for testing. Vaginal and transvaginal. Maybe a CT scan. CA125 testing. Whatever it takes to find out what is wrong. I am being tested right now for all of the cancers or just tumors. Ovarian cancer does NOT show up in regular bloodwork or testing. I am not trying to scare you, but don't let anyone blow you and your symptoms off. If you have those symptoms there is something wrong. I could be a simple cyst or it could be something bad.

I was pretty much told it was in my head or that I had IBS. UH...NO! That is NOT it. I won't relent until I find out!

Thank you for the info. I am still afraid. I don't think it could be anything like ovarian, because I don't have ovaries, tubes, a uterus, a cervix, or anything really since I had a total hysterectomy. I do still need to go back, but our insurance is so bad now that our deductible is $4000 per person and didn't pay for the last procedure and won't pay for anything else until I meet that, which of course I can't. Plus my daughter just broke her ankle. Sounds minor in comparison, but things just add up and this keeps getting pushed to the back. I have epilepsy too and I am on meds and a VNS implant for that and so I'm always trying to stay on top of that as well. I guess I keep hoping it will be nothing. The pain has subsided but the constipation is ongoing. I'm waiting to see if my husband changes jobs (he is in the midst of making a decision) with better benefits and then doing something. In the meantime we've had some major family crises that have kept me sidetracked, not to mention the daily grind of raising three kids and dealing with epi. Thank you so much for your support, though. I do want all those tests. I trust my doctor and have been going to him for 19 years so we have a very good relationship and I am comfortable asking for what I want.
