3 weeks post TT

It's been 3 weeks since I've had my TT. Overall it has been a good 3 weeks. I am not having body temperature issues so my house is no longer freezing to everyone but me. And for the most part I feel great.

However, I am still so tired. It doesn't matter if I have 8 hours of sleep or more or even less, I'm still tired and have to take a nap during the day. That is the one thing that I do not like. Is there anything I can do to make this better?

I don't have my pathology report back yet. Apparently the pathologist can't find the cancer cells that the biopsy said I had. According to my surgeon less than 1% of FNAB come back as a false positive. So there is a chance that I am in that less than 1% or that the cancer cells are microscopic. It could take up to 2 months to get that result back.

Any help would be nice! Thanks! :)

It takes a while for your thyroid hormones to level off and get to the level your dr wants to keep you.  I'm guessing you're probably hypo which would be why you're still tired.  When they test your blood numbers, you'll know for sure.  Are you on synthroid now?  You should be unless they are preparing you for hypo for RAI.  But they also may be waiting for cancer confirmation.  It sounds like you may be in limbo?

I am on Synthoid already. I'm on 100mg per day. I haven't had a follow up with the endocrinologist yet. I meet with him next week. Looks like i have some questions to ask him!

Wow, amazing the different opinions doctors give.  I met with my ENT on Wed last week (scheduled TT for 12 June), and he said false positives from fine needle biopsy rate is 15%, yes one five percent.  But, sine my TPO shows Hasimotos (mild, yet the numbers are higher than normal at 63), I'd eventually need to go onLevothyroxine anyway (even if it might be years from now).  So, even if my pathology comes back neg for cancer, I'd need the T4 supplement anyway (eventually).

However, if your pathology report shows no cancer, at least you don't have to do the RAI, and get the side effects that are possible from that.  So, really, actually, this might be a good thing?  I know, it doesn't feel that way right now, and I really really wish you the best of luck.

You don't say that you are on Levothyroxine, if you are not and it is going to take "months" to get the results back, start screaming now.  Take someone with you to the appointment who can explain how tired you are if you don't feel as if you'll have the energy to demand treatment.  Maybe you are on Levothyroxine, and that's not the issue.  But, I no some docs postpone starting it to increase TSH for the RAI (which you won't have I assume if the pathology come back neg).

Let us know how it turns out.
