Most of the longterm survival stories I've heard have included recurrences.

I think you are right.

There is someting called a EGFR Tumor Marker that i have seen as the main cause of many cancer(s). I sent my tumor out to a lab (Mol Profiling) and they said my EGFR, MR and SPARC were the cause of my cancer and that i had a 85% chance of recurrance.

And so now i get about 2 to 2.5 years between oil changes (Maintenence Chemo).

That's Wonderful

The trick is to never, ever, ever let your scans or whatever your doc says go beyond say a year or 2, even after 5 yrs out whan they say your are cured.

I hope you are good forever.

My Best

Diagnosed Stage III September 2006, colon resection in October 2006, no affected lymph nodes. 6months of xeloda, tumor on abdominal muscle May 2008, went thru FU and avastin for 6 months, continued avastin for 1 year. Radiation for tumor in 2010 worked well. Continued Avastin till September 2011 mets to lungs, went on Erbetux and Irenetecon. Currently on Erbetux alone, since lungs clear and cea in normal range.

Dr. says I'm doing great. Felling well also.
