My husband was diagnosed with PV and started doing phlebotomy. He is in his third session. I go with him every week. His veins are very easy to find. But the problem is, when the nurse put the needle, he feels terrible pain , that she has to stop. He described the pain going all the way to his shoulder . My question is, when you guys do this treatment, how do you handle it? During phlebotomy, my husband feel heat in his body, a lot of pain in his arm, the problem with that, they are not taking a whole unit every week, due to the discomfort.
