Juvenile Granulosa Cell Tumour

Hi, I'm Michelle from Australia.

My 2 yr old daughter was diagnosed with Precocious Puberty in March. At first they said it was due to a large fluid filled Ovarian cyst but exactly one month after the 1st ultrasound it had turned into a solid mass/tumour. Surgery 3.5 weeks ago revealed that the tumour was a Juvenile Granulosa Cell Tumour which was malignant & they took the ovary.

Thankfully they removed it all and she does not need any chemo or radiotherapy & her oestrogen is returning to normal however physical symptoms are still present & her moods are shocking, & of course this will take time to settle down. She is having monthly bloods & 2 monthly scans as they are worried about recurrence in the other side.

Is there anyone out there with this diagnosis at all or anyone who has had a JGCT? Apparently the JGCT is about 1 in 2 million & I'm looking for support.

Thank you

Hi Michelle,

This is Tulsi from India, My Wife got diagnosed with Juvenile Granulosa cell tumor ( JGCT) six months back, she got removed her right ovary and No Chemo or Radiation.

To my Knowledge,  Staging during the Surgery was the key, Most of the JGCT was found in Stage I and for stage I the prognosis is 90%,

1. First Find the staging for your Daughter ( hope She should be in Stage I)

I resaearched for my Wife, in my suggestion you dont need to worry about this, have regular check up as per your Doctor advice.

May God bless you all.

Thanks
