mass in right kidney.

Had an ultra sound of abdoman and Dr said there is a mass in the right kidney. He said wait until Novemver and check again.

Being nervous about doing this since I do not know if this is benign or cancer I made an appointment with a urologist.

What od you think am I wise not to wait?Gwen

I am sorry you are having a problem.  It is good that it has been found early.  I don't understand the Dr. saying to to wait until November??????

It is good that you made the appointment with a Urologist.

Don't wait!   Go see a urological surgeon and oncologist as fast as possible.  If it is something not good, every day counts.  Prospects are good but you are probably going to have to have it removed.

Ifd it turns out to be something harmless, the haste does not cost you anything. 

Do not wait.  If it is kidney cancer, it can be extremely aggressive and progress very fast.  Find a urological surgeon immediately.  If it does not require surgery, he will tell you.

As others said, waiting may be risky decision.  One mechanism of kidney cancer is that it degrades ur immune system (to protect itself), while it sends out mets.  If it's kidney CA, the longer it's there, the longer it has to harm u.

It's good you made an appt with the urologist. Make sure you tell him you are not comfortable with waiting so he can do further testing. I could not wait knowing that there is a chance it could be cancer. I pray it is benign but if not pray that it is early stage.

In my case, the mass was on my left kidney and was the size of a softball.  From discovery with a sonigram to surgery was less than 7 days.  They didnt even mess around with a needle biopsy as it is nearly always RCC and needs to come out QUICK!.  Some varrients of RCC grow and spread very quickly.  The quicker you get it out, the better your odds of it not spreading.  Find another Doctor and get some better advise.  Your life could depend on it.
