3-month PET is good news!

My husband's 3-month PET scan is "clear"!  The 33 radiation treatments, cisplatin, his positive attitude and hard work, lots of prayers, support and good vibrations from family and friends teamed up and helped him take the upper hand in this battle.

A huge thanks to all of you.  I have learned so much by reading posts/replies and through the responses that I received - wish I had known about this site in January when the battle began.

I look forward to learning more from all of you as we continue our fight, and I wish the best for everyone reading this post.

marymc,

What good news.  That 3-month check lets everyone know that the treatment has worked.  What a relief.  Hang in there.  It will get better.  I am going on four years still clear.  God bless.

Mary, Great news on the scan! Now your husband can push ahead in regaining his strength. Hopefully he is able to get the rest his body needs and the nutrition for rebuilding muscle tone. The new nestle nutrition 560 calorie product is Boost VHC which can be ordered at mddirect.com . I like this product because it's higher calorie and less sugar although high in fat -- an easy way to get more protein into the diet. I agree that everyone on his board are invaluable resources for support! Linda

Hi Mary,

Congratulations on the great news on the 3 month PET scan. I was diagnosed in early February of this year. I went through two months of chemo and radiation for throat cancer.  It was pretty intensive 5 days a week, but I'm through that now.  I had a CT scan last week and everything looks good so I'm now 6 weeks away from my PET scan and hoping I have the same results as you have had.  Still waiting for my taste buds to come back.  So far its been a challenge to find anything that tastes like "real food", but I'm sure that will come back in time.

Doug
