I have never been a fan of alternate medicine as most of it is backed by Pseudo-science. That said I have used some natural medicine as adjunctive therapy, skin lotion etc. I was switched from Sutent (37.5 mg) to Afinitor and developed server lung inflammation the Pulmonologist was so concerned that he instructed me to stop the Afinitor immediately. It appears that some of us cannot tolerate Afinitor for those that can it seems to be effective with fewer side effects. Good Luck

Hello again.  Glad yesterday was a very good day.  Afinitor was the 2nd med that they used w/ Wm after a study drug, Tivozanib, which was great for minimal side effects, but didn't hold the tumor. Just like the other pt. that answered, watch out for the "cough".  It is inflammation of the lungs and once it gets going, I don't think it's worth holding out. They can control it w/ steroids but, there are other drugs instead.  The other side effects, mainly, terrible fatigue, weren't worth it to Wm.  He wasn't controlling his fevers at the time.  It might have been more tolerable if he had.  Dr. Vogelzang's next choice would have been Inlyta, a new drug on the market, but after studying its' side effects, Wm. refused and switched himself to Protocel 23. Elonna of "Elonna's Corner" who was cured of breast cancer with Protocel, recommended Protocel 50 because of his mets and we will change as soon as we run out of the first bottle.
