best time to take tarceva. thinking like nut.

I will mad about choosing time to take tarceva.

My mom is Stage IV, 70 year, adenocarcinoma, bone met.

First my mom take tarceva on 6:00 AM but still have cough and I take many herbal and many fruit and vegetables so I think it will reduce tarceva performance so I switch it to

11:20 PM. but after switch my mom has loss of appetite after that. I don't know how to do it. thinking like nut.

I think 11:20 PM is best time to got tarceva best performance but I know when we sleep all system will slow absorption system may not work 100% and maybe tarceva cannot got 100% performance.

Please help me to clear this thing.

Supposed to be couple hours before &after any eating drinking.... So David takes his around 6 am since he sleeps in till 8-10 before break-fast-ing So when he awakens to pee yet still in middle of his night sleep

Hi I think time makes a difference also. Have done chemo in the am and pm and have had more side effects and different side effects with am chemo. I read it's something to do with when the different cells are active at different times of the day. I have tried to find more information but haven't been able to come up with any.

You may log in to the Tarceva site for more information http://www.tarceva.com/patient/taking/how_to_take.jsp To my knowledge , be it take in the morning or afternoon or night, it should not make any difference. But, I am not sure is that going to make any difference for some patient, maybe you can discuss it with the doctor and have better understanding. Meantime, you also may log in o Cancer Grace , www.cancergrace.org to seach and read the sharing from patient and Doctor about tarceva. I wish your mum will do well . Last thing is that patient should avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice when taking Tarceva . Wish my sharing of information is useful for you. SK
